Baby Brother

I had another ultrasound a few weeks ago and have been meaning to post these. The baby measured just as he should be and everything looks great. He is getting big... weighed in over a pound when these were done. He is moving a lot and now we can see him push out my belly on the outside when he gets really active. I will have another check up next week. I am at a little over 24 weeks now. Its going by fast!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to a fall festival farm today. Yes, they do have these farms in CA too! We rode behind a tractor on a bed of hay as we took a tour of the farm. Maddie enjoyed climbing the giant haystack with Daddy and adventuring through the hay maze. We didn't try out the "sunflower forest" or do pony rides but maybe next year! We kept trying to get Maddie to hold a baby pumpkin for a picture but she would politely say, "no" and shake her head and walk away from us. She did cooperate with wearing her lion costume so we could take some pictures. I think it helped that she was somewhere with lots of distractions because at home she kept trying to rip off the head piece. She got to meet for the first time some piglets and get up close to a big cow eating some hay. Overall it was a very fun family day. I kept thinking about next year and how there will be 4 of us doing this. Very exciting!

Fall

So we woke up today and it was cold! Well... cold for here in CA and I was so excited! Soon I smelled a familiar smell... the furnace kicking in and the heater running. Ahh I love the change of seasons. So, this fall brisk weather is only going to last a few days most likely but I will be enjoying it for sure! Here are some pictures of Maddie enjoying a fall morning outing with us in the riverbed walking path near our house.

SCROLL DOWN

Make sure you keep scrolling down because I did a lot of posting today!

THE CHAIR

A few weeks ago, Ben's parents lent us a toddler sized arm chair. Unfortunately we were not filming Maddie when she first saw the chair. She was so cute saying, "Oh wow" and other jabber of excitement and kept sitting down in it repeatedly. She loves it and so do we because she seems to feel like she has a special spot in our house now and is not constantly trying to be up on the couch with us. She takes books to the chair and sits in it to "read" them. Thanks Nano and Papa for letting us borrow such a great chair!

Fun at Grammy and GrandDad's

We were at Bens cousin's wedding last weekend and spent the day and night at my parent's house. Maddie had a lot of fun playing with their dogs and watching Ben and my dad put up insulation in a shed in the yard. Hopefully someday soon we will have a yard and perhaps get a little dog for our dog lover. Madelyn does what we call her "animal call" when she sees animals. It is a mix between a prolonged squacking and screeching sound. I will have to get some video of it to share with you all. Maddie came with us to the wedding that night at a nearby winery and then my parent's picked her up shortly after the ceremony to babysit her for the rest of the evening. The wedding was at such a beautiful setting and was just lovely. We feel so blessed to be able to see our family so easily and often.

Fun at Nano and Papa's

Here are some scrambled up pictures from our trip to Nano and Papas. We also were able to stop in and see Ben's grandpa, "Campa" while we were there. The main purpose of the trip was to see Cody and Michelle and congratulate them on their engagement in person. They are in the picture holding Maddie in just her diaper. Welcome to the family Michelle! We went to Danish days with the newly engaged couple and spent the rest of the day at Ben's parents. Maddie was having so much fun she did not want to nap and konked out after dinner in Nano's arms. If was such a nice day with family.
